The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course equips healthcare professionals in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings with the skills to:
- Recognize life-threatening emergencies

- Relieve choking safely and quickly
Certification
At the end of the course (same day), you will receive a certificate of completion from Pulse BLS. Your official American Heart Association (AHA) digital certification card will arrive within 5 business days. Certifications are valid for 2 years.

Heartcode® BLS for Healthcare Providers
An official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association®.
Students are presented with BLS cases and an online multiple-choice written exam. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on 2020 BLS guidelines, and provide treatment.
Successful completion of Part 1, the cognitive component, and Part 2, skills practice and testing with an AHA BLS Instructor, are the requirements for obtaining an AHA BLS Healthcare Provider course completion card.
- Part 1 – Complete the online learning modules.
- Part 2 – Attend an in-person skills practice session. Pass the in-person skills testing with a Pulse BLS AHA Instructor.
After completing the skills session, you will receive a certificate of completion from Pulse BLS. Your official American Heart Association (AHA) digital certification card (valid for 2 years) will arrive within 5 business days.

Steps to complete your blended certification:
Step 1: Register for the course.
Step 2: Complete the online modules. Instructions are included in your confirmation email (check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see it).
Step 3: Print your online completion certificate OR email it to BLS@PulseBLS.com before your skills check.
Step 4: Attend your scheduled in-person skills practice and testing session.
You must bring (or have emailed) your online completion certificate to participate.
